Thor & Jormungandr Organic Tank Top

  • £20.00

This design by Sean Parry of Sacred Knot Tattoo depicts the legendary Norse god Thor fighting the Midgard serpent. The knotwork closely follows the rule system of the ancient Viking art form know as Jelling from the 10th to 11th century. Jewellery and items adorned in this art form have been found all across Scandinavia, the British isles and much further afield.

The middle child of the giantess Angrboða and Loki, Jormungandr was cast into the sea and grew so big that he could reach his own tail and encircle all of Midgard in his coils. It is said that when he releases his tail, Ragnarok will begin...

About The Artist

Sean Parry is the founder and main artist at Sacred Knot Tattoo. Having grown up in North Wales on a mountain peninsula called the Great Orme, his love of celtic and Norse culture, history and art fuels his tattooing and painting. He specialises in celtic and norse neo-traditional dotwork, aiming to capture the magic of knotwork and spirals that the ancient inhabitants of the North where also so fond of.
