Nidhogg Valkyrie | Organic T-Shirt

Design

This design by Jannicke Wiese-Hansen of Nidhogg Tattoo features a Valkyrie battling a looming serpent. Her design is based roughly on an artifact from the Viking Age found in Sweden.

Valkyries are some of the most misunderstood characters of Norse mythology. Though they were women who gathered the souls of slain warriors (which may seem seductive) they were also greatly feared and were often named after actions and consequences of battle. One of the most famous descriptions of Valkyries is featured in Darraðarljóð and describes their weaving of a cloth from the entrails and body parts of slain warriors.

The nape of the neck on this t-shirt features a small version of Jannicke's personal raven logo.
