Gotland Triskele of Beasts Wood Burned Plate
This wooden plate has been decorated by Paula Cruz Art through the ancient art of wood burning and was inspired by the decorations of a fibula found in Gotland, forming a triskele with animal heads.
The shallow bowl stands alone as a display piece or can be used for storing small items like jewellery.
Material & Make
The use of fire to manipulate natural materials is one of the most ancient forms of artistry. Pyrography has been discovered on artefacts globally such as bone, wood, leather, and even stone.
Each piece is uniquely one of a kind, having been hand worked by the artisan to compliment the dimension of the design and respect the natural grain of the wood.
As the bowls have been made freehand, there are slight variations between the designs photographed.
Finished with a clear varnish.
